Mrs. Ella Crane, 79, of 103 E. Washington, Attica, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday (Feb. 9, 1976) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient since January 28. Mrs. Crane was a teacher in the Attica area for 35 years. She taught at Logan, Davis and Attica Elementary Schools. She also was a postmaster at Riverside for about 20 years. She was born May 30, 1896, in Riverside, the daughter of John and Mary Shaugnessy Hullihan. On Dec. 9, 1922, she was married to Fred R. Crane in Covington, who died May 4, 1969. Mrs. Crane had resided in Attica since June but lived in Riverside most of her life. She was a graduate of Attica High School and Indiana State University. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Senior Citizens Club, both in Attica and Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include a son, Leo of Attica Route 2; a brother, Dewey Hullihan of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. John (Cecelia) Mathews of West Lafayette; two grandchildren and a great-grand child. A son Ralph, was killed in World War II. Services Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Rev. Edwaard Matuszak officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery with Dale Maus in charge. --tch
